The Ashland Academy of Art is located on the southern tip of Oregon, just a ten minute drive from the northern border of California. Ashland is a BIG small town, a “micropolitan” community, offering a variety of culture normally found in much larger cities. Ashland is home to the famous Shakespeare Theatre Festival, located next to the beautiful Lithia Park and thriving town center full of shops, restaurants, galleries and music venues. Given its unique location and climate, Ashland encourages an active lifestyle ranging from walking, biking, hiking and swimming in summer to a variety winter sports on Mt. Ashland and ice skating in Lithia Park.
The Academy occupies a large two story building, just a few blocks from the heart of downtown Ashland. The remodeled facilities are spacious and provide optimal lighting for drawing and painting activities.
